Need for alignment
National strategy ↔ EU strategy
- Both Bulgarian respondents consider alignment between national and EU Global Health strategies important (100%), even though they report their country currently has no National Strategy for Global Health.
- Both respondents also believe it would be useful and important to develop a National Strategy for Global Health (100%), suggesting alignment is seen as a future goal rather than a current state.

Communication and implementation
Disseminate, engage, implement
- Both respondents agree on the need to further disseminate information about the EU Global Health Strategy (100%).
- Suggested target audiences are split evenly between government/ministries and civil society (50% each).
- Social media is unanimously identified as the channel to use for disseminating the Strategy (100%).
- Respondents describe communication as needing to involve NGOs, civil society partners, global partners, citizens, governmental bodies, agencies, and the education sector, with suggested channels including educational courses, conferences, media, and social networks.
- On strengthening implementation, respondents point to working meetings and policy-level coordination, calling for nationally responsible authorities and EU mechanisms to reinforce dialogue with stakeholders.
- Communication on Global Health work within their own organizations relies mainly on conferences/forums (25%), followed evenly by official publications, institutional meetings, the official website, scientific publications, webinars and reports (12.5% each).

National strategy
No strategy yet, but a clear ask for one
- Both respondents confirm that Bulgaria does not have a National Strategy for Global Health (100%).
- Both respondents (100%) believe it would be useful and important to establish one.
- Awareness of the EU Global Health Strategy itself is also absent: 100% report their institution is not aware of its existence or content.
- Awareness of a national Global Health Ambassador is similarly limited, with both respondents answering "don't know" (100%).
- The closest related national reference identified is The National Health Strategy 2030, published by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bulgaria (2024).

National coordination and key actors
Who does what, and how they talk to each other
- The main Global Health actors identified in Bulgaria are the Ministry of Health, the National Center of Public Health and Analyses, and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
- Both respondents answered "don't know" (100%) when asked whether a formal or informal coordination mechanism exists among these actors.
- Neither responding institution is currently involved in reporting to EU organisations/institutions about Global Health initiatives and their implementation (100% No).
